An Uber driver was arrested after he allegedly sexually battered a Miami Beach tourist who passed out in his car after he'd offered her a ride last year, police said.

Rafael Martinez, 42, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of sexual battery on a physically helpless victim, Miami-Dade jail records showed. Miami-Dade Corrections

According to an arrest report, the alleged incident happened Jan. 25, 2024, as the victim was visiting Miami Beach for a few days with a friend and staying at an Airbnb on Collins Avenue.

The victim had gone to a bar at the Faena Hotel to have drinks before her friend took an Uber back to the Airbnb, but the victim stayed behind to finish her drink.
