Individuals experiencing any of five particular walking difficulties may be eligible for a disabled parking badge. Blue Badges are designed to assist those with severe physical or mental conditions to park nearer to their destinations.

Statistics show that by 2024, approximately 2.84 million Blue Badge holders existed across England - meaning more than one in every 22 people held these special permits. Amongst the eligibility requirements are several issues related to walking.

The Government website indicates you could qualify for a badge if any of the following circumstances apply:

You cannot walk at all

You cannot walk without help from someone else or using mobility aids

You find walking very difficult due to pain, breathlessness or the time it takes

Walking is dangerous to your h
