LAKE CITY, Fla. (WCJB) - A bicyclist was killed after colliding with a car in Columbia County Wednesday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say the car was driving northbound on US 441 near the intersection of Northeast Gum Swamp Road when it hit a crossing bicyclist around 6:45 a.m.

They say the bicyclist, a 56-year-old Lake City man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a 29-year-old man also from Lake City, was not injured.
