White squirrels are not endangered or threatened, but can be rare, according to the White Squirrel Institute.
St. Clair Shores community members have seen something white, small and fast-moving run around the trees and streets this October. Though it's Halloween time, it is not a ghost.
A fluffy, white squirrel near the area has been roaming the neighborhoods and taken the hearts of kids and adults alike after more than 1,800 reacted and 50 commented on a post in the St. Clair Shores Michigan Residents Group , where one user said they saw the squirrel near 13 Mile Road, Harper Avenue and Share Street on Sunday, Oct. 19.
