The City of North Bay will host a public open house on Oct. 28 to share the findings and recommendations of a road safety review of Algonquin Avenue.

This review was completed in response to concerns about pedestrian safety and collisions along Algonquin Avenue between Hwy 11/17 and Lansdowne Avenue. After adopting its Road Safety Strategy in November 2024, the City engaged CIMA+ (engineering firm) to complete the review.

Potential solutions, including a pedestrian signal and crossover, were explored but ultimately not recommended due to site conditions and provincial guidelines.
