KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office says two people are in custody following a pursuit Wednesday afternoon that ended in a grassy median on Interstate 49 near Peculiar.
According to the sheriff's office in a Facebook post, deputies were trying to stop a car that had a stolen license plate about 1 p.m. Wednesday, south of Harrisonville.
The sheriff's office said the driver fled north through the city of Harrisonville and on Interstate 49. The car was then driven off the road into the median just south of Missouri J highway near Peculiar.
Two people were taken into custody shortly after the incident.
Part of northbound I-49 was closed for about half an hour but has since reopened to traffic.
