SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The government shutdown may alter this year’s Veterans Day parade in Savannah.

WTOC spoke with the chairman and organizer of the Savannah Veterans Day parade and they told us that they don’t plan on shutting anything down, but say the government shutdown will change their lineup for the parade.

Active military bands have always been an important part of the parade, but this year we could see a parade without any active military members.

It all depends on whether the government reopens by the 7th of November, the Friday before the parade. This takes away groups like Fort Stewart’s band which leads the parade, or even active members on the parade’s review stand, which have been a part of the festivities since its inception.
