NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A 30-year-old man is in custody on Wednesday after he was found in possession of illegal narcotics.

Taron Bernard German Jr., of West Ashley, is charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession of schedule II drugs, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, unlawful conduct toward a child, and unlawful stop/standing.

Around 8:15 p.m. on Monday, North Charleston officers observed a driver, later identified as German, slumped down in a seat trying to hide from police around Kraft Avenue and Ubank Street.

A juvenile was also in the passenger seat, the North Charleston Police Department said.

When officers approached, they saw two marijuana blunts next to the driver.
