ROCHESTER, N.H. —
The Rochester School District is facing a $1.3 million deficit after it sent the wrong student data to the state.
City officials said they are working on ways to fill the gap.
"It was really kind of the perfect storm of bad practices that came back to bite," said Superintendent Jared Fulgoni. "We developed and built a budget assuming level-funded adequacy. Then, to find out that it was being reduced by $1.3 million was really a significant impact to us."
Adequacy money is given to a district for students with specific needs, such as English language learners or special education students.
