MACON, Ga. — A civic leader in Macon-Bibb Shan Towns died Monday at her home in Byron, Georgia.

Peach County Coroner Kerry Rooks said that she died of natural causes. Rooks said she was 46 years old.

Towns first worked with Bibb County on their communications team, and later as Office Manager at Lake Tobesofkee.

The county celebrated her in the new role in one of their "Staff Spotlight" articles back in 2021 . They said that she worked in the customer service part of the communications team, answering phone calls "with a smile, no matter what was waiting on the other end of the line."

As she moved from City Hall to Lake Tobesofkee, they said that they were "proud to celebrate her new role!"

She worked with the county for over 15 years, between her role at City Hall and at the lake.
