TIFFIN, Ohio — Heidelberg women's wrestling team is the university's newest athletic program and will be hitting the mat for the first time this fall.

Wrestling season begins for both the men's and women's teams on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at Seiberling Gymnasium against John Carroll University. To celebrate the women's inaugural season, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Dr. Courtney DeMayo Pugno and Vice President for Advancement, Marketing, Alumni, and Community Relations Ashley Helmstetter have agreed to face off in a light-hearted exhibition match.

The matchup will also be used as a fundraiser, with the campus community invited to "choose their champion" by making a donation in support of who they believe will win. All proceeds will go towards the women's wrestling team.
