CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A coach with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools was charged on Wednesday for allegedly firing a weapon into a home in southwest Charlotte, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Charlotte police said on Wednesday, Oct. 22, that the York County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested 27-year-old Dia’Mond Johnson.

Johnson was transferred into the custody of the York County Sheriff’s Office and is now awaiting extradition.

A Charlotte police incident report said that Johnson allegedly fired shots into a home on Doughton Lance near Nations Ford Road.

He was charged with two counts of shooting into an occupied property.

Charlotte police said that the shooting occurred off of school property and did not involve any student or faculty member.
