CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Two race teams continued their legal battle against NASCAR this week as the teams and the sport’s governing body attempted to reach a settlement to avoid what would likely be a nasty court battle scheduled to start on Dec. 1.

The legal battle comes after Front Row Motorsports and 23XI Racing -- the latter of which is co-owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin -- filed a federal lawsuit against NASCAR and its CEO, Jim France, back in October 2024.

The lawsuit came after Front Row Motorsports and 23XI Racing were the only two Cup Series teams that refused to sign NASCAR’s charter agreement back in September 2024.
