City of Wanneroo voters have returned a largely familiar council, with most incumbents keeping their seats.

Six of the seven councillors who were up for re-election retained their seats, while one ward saw a former councillor make a comeback.

Hugh Nguyen, who served as councillor for the South-West ward from 2013 to 2021, is back after defeating Natalie Herridge, who won the ward in 2021. Mr Nguyen did not seek re-election in 2021.

Mr Nguyen took to his social media page to thank voters for their support.

“I’m pleased to officially announce that I’m back as your councillor for the next four years, to continue working hard for you — our wonderful residents — and the community,” Mr Nguyen said.
