A Carlton Football Club mascot has mired the club in an anti-Semitism scandal after storming out of a fan's Bar Mitzvah after learning he was helping raise money for injured Israeli soldiers.
The man working as Captain Carlton left the celebrations at a young fan's Bar Mitzvah when he found out where the money being given to the 13-year-old was going, the Herald Sun reported.
The mascot had made a surprise appearance at the function, organised by the boy's parents.
Witnesses overheard the man allegedly say "I'm not doing this for f***ing Zios (Zionists)" before walking out of the event.
The guests in attendance included Jewish community leaders and senior Carlton members.
It is understood the man is no longer working for the club, with Carlton saying the matter has now been "resolved"
