WACO, Texas (KWTX) - One of the fastest rising country music stars whose unexpected path to playing music included a stint playing college football and a move to Nashville ‘on a whim’ will be headlining a concert at Waco’s Foster Pavillion Thursday.
Tucker Wetmore, who was recently nominated for CMA New Artist of the year as well as ACM New Male Artist of the Year, says despite his busy touring schedule that’s taken him around the world, he’s really looking forward to a stop in Central Texas.
“I am so stoked about it and I love Texas, especially Waco,” Wetmore told KWTX.
Wetmore’s fast and furious rise to the top has been full of unexpected turns.
The Washington state native was a four-time state champion in high school and believed that football was his future.
