GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) - The third annual Young Professionals Summit took place Wednesday with a goal in mind: help young, talented workers build their lives and careers in Mesa County.
Officials with Grand Junction's Chamber of Commerce, who hosted the event, say they're doing their part to help fresh local talent cultivate deep community roots so they have an incentive to stay put.
"We have to make a place for our young professionals," says Candace Carnahan, Chamber of Commerce president and CEO. "We can't just wait for a place in our organizations to open up. We want to make sure we're bridging the gap between our experienced workforce and the newer members of our workforce."
