DELTA, Colo. (KREX) - Emergency crews were on the scene of a one-vehicle crash where the driver struck a power pole before the car caught fire.

The crash happened around 7:30 a.m., Thursday, near the area of Trap Club Road northeast of Delta. The Delta County Sheriff's Office reported the road was temporarily closed so that the fire department could suppress the blaze and crews could clean up and investigate the scene.

Although the road has reopened, the sheriff's office stated there is alternating traffic and reduced speeds coming into Delta on Trap Club.

The extent of injuries is unknown.
