A “Chicago P.D.” star is taking a leave of absence from the NBC procedural.
Original cast member Patrick John Flueger, who plays Officer Adam Ruzek, is going on temporary hiatus to deal with a personal matter, Deadline reported on Tuesday, Oct. 21. He will return to the show later this season.
According to Deadline, Flueger’s temporary break was unexpected, meaning scripts had to be reworked to account for his absence. The outlet also reported that the hiatus comes amid a difficult period for Flueger, 41, including an instance where he consumed alcohol on set.
