GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - East Carolina University students marched down Tenth Street and on campus today for unity and in light of recent events.
“I would say you’re seen, you’re heard, you’re understood. That’s the best thing I could say,” said Shovan Monroe, NAACP co-vice president. “People are standing with you, because many people can feel alone. The takeaway is you’re not alone.”
The march also addressed events both locally and nationally, such as the reported assault, harassment, and rape cases on ECU’s campus and the death of the Delta State University student, ruled a suicide, but which marchers have questions about.
