COLLINS, Miss. (WDAM) - A prominent Covington County businessman faces felony charges of animal cruelty, according to the Covington County Sheriff’s Department.

Covington County Sheriff Darrell Perkins said Ronnie Robinson, Okatoma Canoe Rental owner, allegedly shot and killed two of his neighbor’s dogs.

Robinson was charged with one count of aggravated animal cruelty after he allegedly drove onto a neighbor’s property along Walter Lott Road and shot and killed two dogs.

Robinson turned himself into the sheriff’s department Wednesday morning, and after being charged, he was released on a $10,000 bond.

Perkins said the shooting apparently stemmed from a dispute over aggressive dogs coming onto Robinson’s property and attacking and killing his livestock.
