NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Nashville Humane Association received a major donation that’s going toward helping animals across the Midstate.

The organization got a check for more than $17,000 on Wednesday morning.

The funds are a gift from Terry Black’s Barbecue Restaurant, and they came from proceeds during a pop-up fundraising event at Mother’s Ruin.

“My fiancé, back in the day, used to help out here a lot, and it was near and dear to his heart, and his family grew up here.
