LONGVIEW, Texas (KETK)-- The Harvest Festival and Livestock Show is underway in Longview, offering students a chance to showcase their hard work and dedication in raising livestock.

On the second day of the festival, students presented their best three birds, which they raised over a six-week period, for judging based on size and uniformity. The event also features a speech contest, home economics and ag mechanics shows, providing a comprehensive platform for various skills and talents.

"The livestock show allows these kids to learn from dedication. It allows them to learn responsibility, financial management, and what hard work means," said Shaniqua Davis, a county extension agent with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.
