COLUMBIA, S.C. — The fall weather continues across the Midlands with dry air, cooler mornings, and pleasant afternoons.

An extended period of dry weather is expected to continue across the Midlands through the end of the week, with temperatures running near to slightly below normal for late October. Sunshine will dominate much of the forecast, and the next meaningful chance of rain likely will not arrive until late in the weekend or early next week.

Tonight, clear skies will continue, allowing overnight temperatures to cool off quickly. Expect a chilly start to the day on Thursday as low temperatures will fall into the low to mid 40s across the Midlands. High temperatures Thursday afternoon will be on the warmer side in the mid to upper 70s.
