MONROE, La. (KNOE) - AT&T gifted Northeast Louisiana Children’s Museum $20,000 for programs to teach children to use digital devices safely.
The Museum’s Director of Stemology, Sarah Sehon says some children lack digital literacy because they don’t have access to the internet.
“The amount of internet that surrounding parishes have is very, very low,” Sehon said. “There are some parishes that only have 2% internet. So as it becomes more available, more people will be accessing it. So that is in the hands of more children and they need to know how to do it safely.”
Sehon says that the programs are under development and also include non-digital activities.
