TOLEDO, Ohio — What began as a small volunteer effort by a group of local Muslim physicians in 2017, has now started to grow into one of Toledo’s most vital lifelines for people without access to affordable healthcare.
The Halim Clinic, a nonprofit providing free medical and dental services, officially opened its new facility featuring six medical exam rooms, five dental suites and a pharmacy room.
The clinic, located off of Monroe Street, serves uninsured and underinsured residents regardless of cultural, ethnic or religious background.
“Our goal is to provide high-quality care to individuals who just don’t have the means to get it,” said Dr. Nadeem Khan, a board member and clinical provider at Halim Clinic. “The need in our community is immense.”
