PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — While much of the messaging surrounding the race to be Virginia's next attorney general has focused on how the other candidate will be a "worse" choice, during their debate, both tried to portray themselves as worse for one of the state's top political megadonors.
Neither Attorney General Jason Miyares (R-Va.) nor Democratic challenger, former Del. Jay Jones, were asked specifically about Dominion Energy during the Virginia Bar Association's debate held at the University of Richmond Oct. 16.
However, when the moderator asked a question related to energy consumption and the Virginia Clean Economy Act, both took the time to mention the corporate giant by name.
"I'm the first attorney general ever to take Dominion to task," Miyares said.
