Harshit Rana was retained in India’s playing XI for the second ODI against Australia in Adelaide on Thursday (October 23), and he scored 24 runs from 18 balls after coming out to bat at No. 9 for the Shubman Gill-led side. During his stay at the crease, Rana hammered three fours and added 37 runs for the ninth wicket with Arshdeep Singh, who made 13 runs from 14 balls.

The impressive batting performance by Rana in the match where Virat Kohli got out for a four-ball duck and captain Shubman Gill made nine runs from nine balls, earned him big praise from the Indian fans, who at the toss questioned his place in the playing XI.
