It was exhilarating to see the turnout for the "No Kings" rally in Missoula and everywhere. Politics and governing these days seem to about controlling the "narrative," and that means getting a lot of eyes on what you want people to see. The right-wing extremists have used that one talent to normalize the outrageous things we see our president doing now. Rallies like those Saturday, which politicians and anything calling itself "media" can't ignore, are important counter-programming. More importantly, the less tuned-in voters can't help but hear the noise and pay more attention.
