GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Authorities say no one was hurt as crews worked to contain a chemical spill at a meat packing plant in Green Bay early Thursday morning.
According to a release from the Green Bay Metro Fire Department, the GBMFD Hazmat team responded around 1:45 a.m. to a meat packing plant on the 1300 block of Lime Kiln Road for reports of a chemical spill.
Officials on the scene state a tote filled with a cleaning acid had tipped over while being moved with a forklift. The cleaning acid was then off-gassing in a garage storage area, which workers had already safely evacuated.
The GBMFD Hazmat team entered the area and moved any product to an unused tote before putting the leaking tote upright and containing the chemical spill.
Officials report that all the chemicals spilled w
