A school bus driver was critically injured in a parking lot accident at Gauger Middle School near Newark Thursday morning, October 23, 2025.

The incident was reported just before 7 a.m. at the school on Gender Road.

Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Fire Company officials said a woman was pinned between two buses and was on the ground and unresponsive when first responders arrived at the scene.

She was treated by New Castle County paramedics and taken to Christiana Hospital in critical condition having gone into cardiac arrest.

Delaware state troopers are investigating the incident.
