United Way of Tanana Valley is more stuffed than a down jacket as they get ready to distribute the 1,400 pounds of winter gear collected at the annual KTVF coat drive.

The yearly collection takes place from Sept. 22-Oct. 12. People from the community drop off used and new winter hats, boots, scarves, gloves and coats to Bailey’s Home Furniture or Walden Home Group.

All the clothes are brought to Northern Laundry Services to be cleaned, dried and brought to United Way offices where volunteers organize everything by type and size.

They’ve got hundreds of coats sized for toddlers all the way to grown adults displayed across the room.
