A driver repeatedly rammed a Mini Cooper driver in an ordeal which left his victim too afraid to pick his own grandchild up from school. Driving a black Land Rover, Steven Lidster continuously followed, bumped and damaged the Mini on roads around Redcar.
After the frightening 20-minute episode, Lidster drove off and police later found him apparently asleep in the queue of the McDonald's drive-thru on Thrush Road. An initial roadside breath test showed he was almost four times over the drink-drive limit.
The 41-year-old from Redcar , who previously attacked an airport worker while intoxicated, escaped an immediate jail term for dangerous driving. On hearing Lidster was suffering with PTSD and depression after working as a contractor in war-torn Afghanistan, the judge told him: "Please
