HAMPTON ROADS — Drive Safe Hampton Roads announced it is sponsoring four 757 Sober Ride opportunities for Halloween.
Over the 2024 Halloween weekends — Oct. 25-27, and Oct. 31–Nov 3 — there were 2,942 crashes, 1,468 traffic-related injuries and 31 fatalities on Virginia’s roadways, according to the Virginia DMV Highway Safety Office. Of those, 193 of those crashes were alcohol related, with 123 injuries and 14 fatalities — 45%.
DSHR is asking those who plan to celebrate to make a plan and arrange a sober ride home using 757 Sober Ride by visiting drivesafehr.org/757-sober-ride .
