Police say they are investigating after a gunshot fired inside a residence in Norwich struck a neighbor’s home on Wednesday.

Officers responded to the area of 229 Boswell Ave. at 7:40 p.m. on the report of shots being fired and secured the scene after finding evidence of gunfire, according to Lt. Kyle Besse of the Norwich Police Department .

“Officers quickly determined this was an isolated incident and there was no ongoing threat to the public,” Besse said in a statement.

Detectives responded to the scene and conducted a preliminary investigation, which found that a single gunshot was fired in a residence and struck a neighbor’s home, according to Besse.

No injuries were reported.
