TYLER, Texas (KETK) -- The 2024 Railroad Crossing Improvements Project, which is approved to begin in 2028, plans to upgrade downtown railroad crossings to support future two-way traffic patterns, improve safety, and enhance connectivity.

As Downtown Tyler evolves, the City of Tyler is taking steps to support and connect destinations in the heart of the city. The 2024 Railroad Crossing Improvements Project, is upgrading three downtown crossings at East Locust Street, East Furguson Street and East Erwin Street that will be reconfigured to meet modern safety standards and support future two-way traffic patterns planned for the area.

The project also includes the East Lake Street crossing, which provides an important connection for drivers traveling between downtown and the midtown district
