TYLER, Texas (KETK) - The Council of Smith County District and County Court at Law judges has appointed a new director of the county's adult probation program.
Following the retirement of former Smith County Community Supervision and Corrections Department director Janet Fugler in September, the judges appointed the department's new director Kendrick Freeman.
Freeman started his career in the department in Dec. 2006 as a supervision officer before serving as a court officer for County Court at Law 3 and as a department supervisor.
Smith County said that Freeman is committed to promoting accountability, growth and positive change through the work of the 65-employee department, which supervises adults under probation in Smith County.
