A federal investigation into illegal gambling by the Eastern District of New York and the FBI has yielded two sets of indictments against 34 total defendants , including former Detroit Pistons guard Chauncey Billups, ex-Pistons player and Cleveland Cavaliers assistant Damon Jones and current Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier.

These charges come four months removed from the report that former Pistons guard Malik Beasley was also under investigation by the Eastern District of New York for allegations regarding gambling on NBA games and prop bets during the 2023-2024 season.

However, Beasley had been determined not to be a target of the investigation in August and he was not charged in the ongoing probe, according to his lawyer, Steve Haney.
