COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein announced on Thursday that a house on the city’s southwest side was boarded up after multiple reports of criminal activity and drug trafficking over two years.

The property, located at 1504 Red Leaf Lane, was shut down after Klein’s office said it’s been used as a “flop house” for drug users, traffickers and criminals on the run.

According to Klein, the Columbus Division of Police received complaints about the property in 2019 and 2021, but reports of criminal and suspicious activities ramped up in 2024.

Between January 2024 and June 2024, police responded to reports of violence and stolen and destroyed property at the home. In December, police arrested a suspect at the home and recovered cocaine and methamphetamine.
