GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A now-former corrections officer with the Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) has been arrested for allegedly smuggling $1.1 million worth of drugs into a VADOC facility in Goochland County.
VADOC announced the arrest of April Parrott on Thursday, Oct. 23. Parrott is a former corrections sergeant with the Virginia Correctional Center for Women.
According to the release, Special agents with the Office of Law Enforcement Services (OLES) arrested Parrott and five other people — including three probationers and an inmate — in connection with the crime. They are facing 13 charges following indictments by a grand jury in Goochland County Circuit Court.
