CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WV News) — The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources has announced the return of the state’s fourth annual Monster Trout Contest, giving anglers and their families a chance to win prizes and fish during the peak fall foliage season.
The WVDNR will stock 40,000 pounds of trout weighing 1 to 2 pounds and 6,500 pounds of monster trout weighing 3 to 6 pounds at 41 lakes and streams around the state during the weeks of Oct. 20 and Oct. 27.
Each water will receive one stocking each week for a total of two stockings.
