SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) - Thunderstorms are still looking likely in the ArkLaTex on Saturday and especially Saturday night. A few of the storms could produce some strong winds. Several inches of rain still look promising.
Any Severe Weather? The Storm Prediction Center is now indicating that we will have a level 1 marginal severe risk over the southern third of the ArkLaTex, mainly south of I-20. The main worry with any of Saturday’s storms will be the potential for strong winds.
Futurecast indicates that peak wind gusts from storms this weekend will be in the range of 20 to 30 mph over the northern half of the area and 30 to 50 mph over the south. A few isolated higher gusts will be possible, especially over the southern edge of the area.
