A woman arrested at the scene of a police shooting in Niagara that took the life of a man suspected of killing a young mother in Brampton and abducting their one-year-old daughter has been charged with being an accessory to an offence.
The woman was arrested moments after Niagara police boxed in a vehicle at Gale’s Gas Bar at around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Police say she was transporting Anthony Deschepper, on the run from police following a fatal shooting and child abduction in Brampton on Tuesday. The shooting and her arrest marked the end of an hours-long manhunt for Deschepper, stretching from the GTA to Niagara in the hours after the Brampton shooting.
