HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) -- A sinkhole has closed a portion of Sycamore Street in Downtown Evansville.
Officials with the Evansville Water and Sewer Utility say the sinkhole was reported on Monday. Crews have been working throughout the week to determine the cause of the sinkhole.
Officials go on to say they believe the sinkhole was caused by a lateral sewer main, but are still investigating.
The EWSU says it doesn’t know when work on the sinkhole will be complete. This comes after a different sinkhole caused by a brick sewer leak opened up on Riverside Drive.
