TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) — As lawmakers set the stage for the next session to kick off in January, all eyes are on the statehouse to see where the governor and legislature stand on the property tax debate.

So far house members released eight possible routes, while the governor has remained silent in recent weeks. That was until late Wednesday night when DeSantis responded to a social media post on "X" about the recent proposals unleashed by the house.

"Placing more than one property tax measure on the ballot represents an attempt to kill anything on property taxes," DeSantis shared. "It’s a political game, not a serious attempt to get it done for the people."
