FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - On Broadway Street, you’ll find one of 18 free food pantries that the group “Forward Indiana” put across the city.

Now, students and people from all over come to re-stock food there to make sure no one goes hungry.

Sieara Sanford is one of those students, she says it all started when her sociology professor offered the class a service-learning project at the start of the school year.

“A lot of students put this together, different organizations helped put the food pantries out in different locations.” Sieara Sanford.

Professor Sherrie Steiner with Purdue Fort Wayne says the project is part of a multifaith effort, rooted in shared values and the idea of common humanity.
