The Minnesota Vikings are condemning racist comments directed at cornerback Isaiah Rodgers.
Rodgers posted screenshots of several messages he received on social media after Sunday’s 28-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The messages contained expletives and racial slurs.
Rodgers, who is Black, said in a post on X that the messages were among the most racist comments he’s received since entering the NFL, but he also said “that’s not even the worst I’ve seen.”
In a statement posted to X, the Vikings said the team was “disgusted” by the slurs directed at Rodgers.
“We support Isaiah and all players who, unfortunately, experience this type of ignorant and prejudicial behavior far too often, and we ask our fans to continue to fight to eliminate racism,” the Vikings said in the statement.
