VEGA, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that one person was killed and others were left with minor injuries after a wreck near Vega Thursday morning.
According to Texas DPS, a Ford Explorer was stopped in a private drive east of US 385 when it failed to yield right-of-way and entered into the roadway in the path of an oncoming vehicle.
DPS said the two vehicle crashed head-on and the driver of the Ford Explorer, identified as Kelly Wagner, 57, of Vega, was ejected from the vehicle.
DPS said Wagner was flown to a hospital in Amarillo where she died from her injuries. The driver of the second vehicle and multiple passengers were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.
