GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — On Wednesday, Sen. Michael Bennet (D) held a press conference offering his perspective on what is now the second-longest government shutdown in United States history. On Thursday, WesternSlopeNow spoke with Rep. Jeff Hurd (R) to get his side.
"We need to get the government back open again," said Rep. Hurd. "Every day that passes is hurting Colorado families. It's hurting small businesses. It's hurting our farmers and ranchers. It's hurting our men and women in uniform."
Sen. Bennet offered his thoughts on what should be done about SNAP benefits, which are set to run out on Nov. 1.
