LA PLATA COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) - The La Plata County Sheriff's Office closed Friday morning after a man brought in a suspected explosive substance in a container.
The individual left it in a vehicle in the sheriff's office parking lot, prompting precautionary measures. The sheriff's office and businesses in the area closed temporarily for public safety.
The substance was safely removed around noon. It will be detonated off-site, according to law enforcement.
Anyone who believes they have an unknown suspected material should immediately call law enforcement, according to the sheriff's office.
